Paul began his musical training at school, aged 13, and studied drum kit with the Malcolm Coram and later Bob Armstrong, in addition to gaining BA and MMus degrees in music at Canterbury Christ Church University. Paul has played drums around the world, the highlights including Fame - The Musical in Cyprus; The Operababes in Beirut; Noise Ensemble as a swing in the UK, Cyprus, Norway and France. Paul has played drums in theatre since 2007 in professional pantomime and Easter touring shows, and has deputised for Jersey Boys London (Piccadilly and Trafalgar Theatres) and for the UK tour, Whisper House London (The Other Palace), and Kinky Boots (UK tour).

Alongside Rocket Max, Paul is also a member of John Doe Trio, a blues band playing largely original music, and an active live session musician and drum teacher in Kent.
